Sushi maki rolls, or simply maki, are cylindrical pieces of sushi formed with the help of a bamboo mat called a makisu. Maki rolls typically contain rice, nori (seaweed), and a variety of fillings, such as fish, vegetables, and sometimes fruit. The roll is then sliced into bite-sized pieces.
Maki rolls come in many different types, including traditional rolls like California rolls and spicy tuna rolls, as well as more creative and unique combinations created by sushi chefs around the world.
